Who we are
Here are members of the Iott Seed Farms team pictured with a cutout of Ralph Iott, who purchased the farm at its current location in 1974. This photo was taken in July 2024 at a 50th anniversary party for Iott Seed Farms.
Dennis is president of Iott Seed Farms. He was in Kalkaska during his college years when the Kalkaska farm was just getting off the ground, left for a few years and returned in 1981. After more than 40 years here, he is taking more time off and helping wherever needed.
Greg, our operations manager, grew up on the farm and joined Iott Seed Farms full-time in 1992. Greg is the go-to guy for big projects, building handling equipment, infrastructure projects and new buildings, along with operations in the field, shop and storage.
Bryan joined the farm in 2012 and is the general manager. He is willing and able to take on whatever role necessary to lead the farm for the next generation. Bryan is the son of Randy Fischer, who works on the farm, and Karen Fischer, who is Dennis and Greg’s sister.
Tom has been with the farm since 2014. He is in line to be Bryan’s right-hand man in the future. He is on top of anything that we throw at him. We all enjoy his outgoing sense of humor, which is needed for the rest of this bunch of reticent introverts. Tom is the ONLY one on our team who has ever sung karaoke.
Randy joined our team after a long career with Lievens Brothers in Petersburg. Randy and Karen moved to Kalkaska and are the parents of Bryan. Randy can do anything. He has farmed and operated equipment for all his adult life. He is a detail guy with a lifetime of experience.
Deryk joined the farm in 2024. He is a Rapid City resident and a Kalkaska High School graduate who previously worked at a local hops farm. Deryk quickly established himself as a very important part of the team. We all appreciate his ambition, work ethic and willingness to jump in no matter what we ask him to do.
Dan, who has been with us since 1996, is in field operations and is our shop manager, Dan is a workhorse, willing to do whatever it takes to finish the job correctly. Dan takes care of all the crop protection applications and related record-keeping. It always gets done right and on time.
